People see your website after their browser has run its scripts and drawn the page. Most AI crawlers never do. They read the raw code your server sends, follow your robots.txt, and your website takes every visitor’s word for who it is.

Blank to most AI crawlers

Most AI crawlers read the HTML your server sends and do not run JavaScript. If your words, prices or contact details only appear after scripts run, many sites look close to blank to them.

One line in robots.txt

A rule in robots.txt, often set years ago or added by a plugin, can shut out the crawlers AI assistants use to read you. People still see the site, so nobody notices.

Fake crawlers

Anyone can send a request that says it is GPTBot or Googlebot. Unless something checks where it really comes from, a scraper wearing a famous name gets the same welcome as the real thing.

Questions

Straight answers.

Does it change my website for visitors?

No. Your pages look and work for people as they do now. The changes are underneath: in the code your pages arrive with, and in the files AI looks for, such as llms.txt and your sitemap. The one new thing visitors see is the Website Agent.

Can I switch it off?

Yes. Turning it off is the same DNS change undone, and your website goes back to working exactly as it did before.

Does it work with my web host?

AI Guard sits in front of your website rather than inside it, so it is built to work whatever your site is built on and wherever it is hosted. It needs one change to your domain’s DNS settings, which we make for you. Before anything changes, we check your setup and tell you if anything stands in the way.

Will AI recommend me?

No one can promise that. AI assistants choose their own answers.
