Finance · Strict rules, set in code
AI and car finance.
Strict rules, every time.
Finance is where a careless chatbot does real damage: a made-up rate, a monthly figure with nothing behind it, or a promise of approval. The Car Agent keeps to a short, strict set of rules, set in code, not left to the AI.
What it will do
Real figures.
On the real car.
Where you publish a representative APR, it works out a monthly figure on the exact car the buyer is looking at, at your own rate, to the penny, and shows the full representative example with it: cash price, deposit, amount of credit, the number and amount of payments, the total amount payable and the APR.
It handles the questions buyers actually ask: a different deposit, a longer term, or “what can I get for £200 a month?”, which brings back the cars that fit, each with its own figure. Where your website shows its own monthly price for a car, it quotes yours, credited to you.
What it won’t do
No made-up rates.
No promises.
It never invents a rate or uses a teaser rate. It never promises approval: finance is subject to status, and the lender decides. It illustrates Hire Purchase only; PCP, with its final payment and mileage terms, goes to your team. It gives no finance where you don’t offer it, and none on a reserved car.
Checked in code
A wrong figure
never reaches the buyer.
Every reply is checked before it goes. A monthly figure that did not come from the calculator at your rate is taken out, and a calculated figure always carries its representative example. The buyer gets a realistic number for the exact car; your team and your finance provider handle the application and the quote, as they do today.
Questions, answered
Finance rules, answered.
Whose APR does it use?
Yours: the representative APR you publish. It never uses a made-up or teaser rate.
Is it a quote?
No, an illustration. It gives the buyer a realistic monthly figure for the exact car; your team and your finance provider give the quote.
What about PCP?
It explains the difference between Hire Purchase and PCP in plain words, and hands PCP figures to your team with the buyer’s details.
What if a buyer has bad credit?
It says finance is subject to status and the lender decides, and offers to have your team talk it through. It never promises approval.
